About the Opportunity

Verum Mining Consultants is seeking two full-time Mining Engineers (Intermediate and Senior levels) to join our growing team. These remote positions can be based in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, or Vancouver, and involve up to 50% travel across North America on a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation.

Reporting directly to the Partners, these roles offer the opportunity to work on diverse underground mining projects across Canada and the United States, contributing to technical studies, operational support, and business improvement initiatives while collaborating closely with clients and project teams.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participating in underground metal mining projects from early-stage studies through to feasibility and operational phases
  • Conducting technical evaluations, due diligence, and NI 43-101 compliant studies (PEA to Feasibility level)
  • Providing site-based engineering support and assisting with field data collection and analysis
  • Leading or supporting optimization and business improvement studies to enhance mine performance
  • Developing mine designs, production schedules, and project cost estimates
  • Collaborating with clients and internal teams to define project scopes, deliverables, and technical requirements
  • Managing project timelines, budgets, and quality standards to ensure successful outcomes
  • Traveling to client sites across North America for inspections, assessments, and fieldwork 
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication and professional service delivery
  • Contributing to the growth of a new and expanding North American mining team within a collaborative, fast-paced consultancy environment

About You

To qualify, you will need a degree in Mining Engineering and be either registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada. A minimum of 10 years of experience in mining engineering will also be essential for the senior role, while candidates with 5+ years of progressive mining experience will be considered for the intermediate level.

 Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience working on underground metal mining projects across Canada or the U.S.
  • Strong technical background in mine planning, design, feasibility studies, and NI 43-101 reporting
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver consulting assignments to high standards
  • Hands-on operational experience on active mine sites 
  • Familiarity with business improvement and optimization studies

About the Benefits

Compensation based on skills and experience, is an annual salary of $150,000–$170,000 for the Intermediate Mining Engineer and $170,000–$180,000 for the Senior Mining Engineer, along with a host of excellent benefits including:
